Hello world!

Andersons Alpacas of Virginia is a family-owned alpaca enterprise. We are excited to join this group of special people who love and raise alpacas. We count ourselves among those who enjoy the company of these friendly, gentle animals who produce the most beautiful and desirable fleece under the sun.

Our journey began in 2009, when we purchased two beautiful female suris. Soon after, we added another pair of females, huacayas:  a national award winning mother and her daughter. We recognize the beauty of both types of alpacas.  We look forward to improving our herd through selective breeding to improve fleece and produce choice conformation.

Initially, we are agisting our animals at local farms while we prepare our family land to serve as home to the people and the animals in our family. Bob grew up on the farm in Amelia Virginia and majored in Animal Husbandry at Penn State. Maureen is a quilter and crocheter who is eager to expand her fiber art skills. We are looking forward to growing our herd, our farm, and our expertise in sales, breeding, boarding, fiber sales, and finished products, as we work with our mentors in this field.  We are members of AOBA, ARI, VAOBA and the Suri Network.
